For our 24th Annual Delaware Valley Youth Retreat, on January 18-14, 2019, we are pleased to have Pastor Steven Hofmaier preaching on “Elijah” Download Youth Retreat Brochure.
Pastor Steven Hofmaier was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, before moving to New Jersey at age 14. He was converted before entering his senior year of high school. While studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware, he learned of the Doctrines of Grace from fellow students. Leading student Bible studies led to an interest in the Christian ministry.
After working for 2 years in the engineering field, he entered the Trinity Ministerial Academy, finishing his studies in 1981. He served for 6 months in Kenya, and then taught at Trinity Ministerial Academy for two years. It was during this time that Steven met Brian Ellis, an English missionary to the Philippines. This contact resulted in a visit to the islands in 1983, which God used to call Pastor Hofmaier to that country.
He has labored as a church planter in the Philippines since 1984. He was used to plant the Moonwalk Community Bible Church, and to start the Reformed Baptist Institute of Pastoral Training. In 2010, after ordaining a plurality of local pastors at Moonwalk, he stepped down from pastoral labors there and has been working full-time in
ministerial training and in assisting other local church planting works.
He has been married to his wife, Carol, since 1983; they have two adult children. One is currently residing in the USA and the other in the Philippines. In late 2017, due to the needs of aging parents, he and Carol have relocated to NJ. While in their home church, he has been recognized as an elder, working full time in the pastoral ministry in Trinity Baptist Church.
Recordings of the session will be available after the retreat on this site and at Sermon Audio
